Gardens at Lake Merritt [local lovin' travel edition]

On mother's day we enjoyed our entire day outside.  Which was both amazing and exhausting.  Our last venture of the day was the Gardens at Lake Merritt.  These gardens are free and open to the public, and the perfect place to wander around, even with a toddler.  The gardens are themed and include some of my favorites like our local wildflowers and giant succulents.  Everly loved each twist and turn in the gravel path, always excited to find something new, the only challenge was getting her to leave.  Here are just a few glimpses of the gardens.
The bonsai garden was one of my favorite spots, even though Everly biffed it pretty bad, and literally ate dirt, but after some hand brushing, she was on to the next adventure.

So when in Oakland in the Lake Merritt area, check out these quaint gardens.

See their website here.
