lucky 13 [disneyland mini-film]

we just got back from everly's 13th trip to the parks.  southern california was experiencing a crazy heat wave, anaheim was literally 106 on our first day. never have I been in the parks in that type of heat.  the only silver lining was the crowd index was extremely low, because seriously, 106!

this trip we battled something new, everly's obsession with souvenirs.  we've been pretty lucky and the struggle with this hasn't been a thing until this trip, and we had to really work on her realizing that we weren't in the parks to buy things.  her biggest obsession was this little purse and glove set that she saw the morning of our second day.  at this point, she had already spent her souvenir money from grammie, we had purchased her bubble wand, and now this.  nope, not happening.  it was a day long of asking, and I purposely left her little purse demand in the video, just as a reminder of her obsession.  it was all she could think about.  don't worry, we worked on her tone as well, demanding of items to be purchased is not going to happen.  she went hours on day three without saying anything about the gloves or buying anything, so then she got to be spoiled by her grandma and grandpa that were with us on this trip.  because, after all, she's three, and it is disneyland.  so, three souvenirs.  oh well, there are worse things in the world I'm sure. right?

here's our week, three days in the parks, 300 video clips, 30 minutes of footage, all wrapped up in just about 8 minutes.  enjoy.

everly says -
"Hey, you smell like orange and sandwich."
"Let's make the rice Christmas trees." [rice crispy treats]
"Why does Santa want to give me a hug?  Let's make him some Mac n' Cheese."
"Oh mama, the decorations are beautiful."
"I wear my princess Anna dress to my party, my big party.  It's my birthday."
"Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me, happy birthday dear Everly, happy birthday to me."
"Let's go see the Everly things.  I don't want to see the mommy things, let's see the Everly things.  The tiny ones."
"This is Halloween, this is Halloween, Halloween, Halloween."
"Oh hi Lennon.  Are you coming to my party?  Ok, uh huh, ok.  Ok, I will see you at my party later.  Love you, bye buddy." [while talking on a calculator]
"I'm Joy, you are Disgust mama.  Um, auntie, you're Sadness.  Sadness, stop touching those things.  Stop it."

everly says -
"What's your problem?"
"I love my pets."
"I'm going to be a witch for Halloween.  A bad witch."
"Mommy, I like your grandma.  I go see her soon.  I like her cats."
"I'm angry girl.  Hey, that's Anger, he makes fire."
"I take my pony tails off.  My daddy helps take my pony tails off."
"I wore a crazy outfit today.  My tutu falls everywhere at daddy's doctor.  And then it falls again.  And then I fix it.  I don't want to match."
"I just hurt your computer.  That's really sad."

mom blogger note:  Making these Minnie ears is kind of addicting, turns out many party guests are getting these as favors for everly's third birthday, not just the little kids.  Oh, and I kind of want a sewing machine now, and I want to learn to sew on said sewing machine...while we're at it.

"I'm an ant.  Step on me.  Smoosh me.  I'm a dead ant now."
"Hey look, I'm a ladybug.  Hey, I'm not scary, I'm a ladybug.  Sweetie doesn't like ladybugs.  They really scare my cat.  Sweetie doesn't want to get hurt by the ladybug.  Now I don't like ladybugs either." [conversation she had with her Sweetie]
"Oooh, I see Mickey Mouse.  Not go close mom.  Not too close."
"Look mom, the princesses aren't sleeping, they are here, in the parade."
"Oh, it's coronation.  It's coronation, I need to hurry!  Where's Anna?  I can't find her.  Oh no, it's coronation."  [said while running around the house, then decided she needed to wash her hands to get read for coronation - see, Frozen sure taught the kids something]

the cutest story, and Disgust

The other day Ev got a new funko to add to her collection with her daddy, and her joy for her little Joy doll was pretty sweet. I had mentioned to her that evening that Disgust was my favorite character because she was green, and I could use her in my classroom when I needed to show my students some 'disgust'. Ev just smiled and nodded her head as I said this. Unbeknownst to me, Everly woke up the next day and the first thing out of her mouth was that she needed to find me a Disgust doll. She went shopping with her daddy and found me the doll, kept her in the box all day until she saw me after school. The second I walked into the door she shrieked with delight, "mama, I have a birthday gift for you!!!! Disgust!  Let's open her and play with her."
And just for the record, she wasn't quite ready to let me bring
Disgust into my classroom.
But man, the thought still counts.
And yes, she now has all the ladies of Inside Out.

My ears that Ev is currently rocking in this photo are from here.
Less than a week till Disneyland folks!!!
And I may have a new pair of handmade ears from here to wear this trip!
I may have a problem.

"A portrait of my daughter, once a week, every week, in 2015."

everly says -
"Mama, you off work?  I don't work.  Daddy goes to work now."
"Step prints...step foots...foot steps.  Baby ones." [footprints from pool water]
"Look mom.  A circle and a moon.  I draw it.  Smell this crayon, I like these.  It smells like strawberry.  This color is strawberry melon.  This color is orange berry."  [apparently she needs to work for Crayola]
